Overview
Aboriginal Youth Justice Caseworker – Bathurst Youth Justice Community Office, Youth Justice. This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only.
Role supports improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and provides front line services to young people at the Bathurst Youth Justice Community Office as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Role Details
* Location: Bathurst
* Employment type: Ongoing, Full time
* Clerk Grade 6/7, Salary $107,131 – $116,969 per annum, plus employer's superannuation contribution and annual leave loading
What You'll Do
* Develop and maintain relationships with the Aboriginal community and key stakeholders to provide front line services to young people.
* Undertake case management activities targeting risk/needs to reduce re-offending, including case planning, organising and facilitating case conferences, and delivering offence-focused intervention programs.
* Collaborate with Youth Justice staff and a range of government and non-government stakeholders to connect young people to services and monitor progress against their case plan.
* Work with courts, parole authorities and legal professionals, providing clear and concise advice, briefings, reports and other written communications.
* Use structured screening and assessment tools to identify risks/needs and determine required interventions, including family and crisis interventions.
* Monitor outcome and case plans for compliance and progress, taking appropriate actions as needed.
* Maintain accurate records and data integrity to support effective case management and decision making.
* Provide young people and their families with information and support to create positive change and promote reintegration into family and community.
* Contribute to the therapeutic nature of Youth Justice services, including behaviour management and reflective practice with staff.
* Adapt to policy changes and comply with departmental procedures and best practice guidelines.
What We're Looking For
* Relevant tertiary qualifications (diploma or higher) in social work, welfare, psychology, criminology, education or related field, or equivalent experience.
* NSW Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
* Current Driver's Licence.
