What You Will Be Doing
As an On-Road Collector, you will perform collections for commercial clients on site, conduct home visits, travel to Nursing Homes and Group Homes, and coordinate specimen samples from patients. You will work autonomously on solo visits but receive support from your On-Road Collector and wider area teams. You may also work shifts at Lingard Hospital, collaborating across wards including Paediatrics, Medical, ICU, CCU, Emergency, Oncology, Special Care Nursery, Maternity and Rehabilitation, delivering high-quality patient care and service.
An important part of your role is using your exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to liaise with doctors, nurses and patients to understand needs and requirements.
A day in the life of our On-Road and Hospital Collectors includes:
* Travel between various locations to collect samples
* Assist elderly and sick patients who cannot travel to clinics
* Keep meticulous records for every patient and sample
* Travel to clinics to prepare and package specimens for transport and testing
* Deliver documentation within allocated timeframes
* Liaise and build effective relationships with stakeholders within the hospital, including doctors, nurses, patients and couriers
* Advanced Pathology Collection — collecting samples (blood and non-blood) across wards and areas including Paediatrics, difficult bleeds and AGBs with care and attention
* Maintain meticulous records for every patient and sample
What Type Of Person Will Be Successful
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector, or have gained a Cert III and are looking to embark on a Pathology Collection career. You could also be a Registered Nurse seeking regular daytime shifts.
Attributes & skills you would possess:
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy / Certificate III in Pathology Collection
* Excellent customer service and communication skills with a high level of empathy
* Organised with strong time management and attention to detail
* Ability to work autonomously, travelling between locations
* Willingness to travel to multiple locations
* Valid Driver's license and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
* Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one
* Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or visa with work permission
Important A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required. You must hold an existing WWCC or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
