Duties & Responsibilities
For Cooks:
Comply with all safety and health policies, procedures, and role responsibilities as outlined in the Safety and Health Responsibilities and Accountabilities procedureMaintain a safety-first mindset, ensuring all tasks are performed safelyFollow and stick to all standard operating procedures in daily operationsEnsure day-to-day working practices follow health and safety policies and the Safety Management SystemReport employee or patron incidents promptly and accuratelyUphold hygiene standards in back-of-house operations by following cleaning schedules and proceduresAssist with washing up and kitchen cleaning when a kitchen attendant is unavailable
For Chefs:
Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring business objectives and service standards are achievedPrepare and serve meals to high-quality standards, maintaining consistency and timelinessMaximise revenue by meeting customer needs and enhancing menu offerings for competitivenessEnsure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirementsMaintain a safe working environment by complying with health and safety policies and promoting a safety-first cultureOversee stock management, including ordering, receiving, storing, stocktakes, and cost controlProvide leadership to the kitchen team, fostering teamwork, training staff, and monitoring performanceReview and implement menu changes to maintain quality and operational efficiency
What do we need from you
For Cooks:
Food safety certification (preferred, not required) Relevant work experience in professional kitchens
For Chefs:
Apprenticeship or vocational training with hands-on kitchen experienceNecessary trade cooking qualifications (Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery)Current Food safety certification, or are willing to obtain one.
