Trade Assistants and Qualified Carpenters
Locally owned and operated, CBR Qld has been delivering commercial projects across the Wide Bay region since 2011. We service State and Local government, Education, Health, Housing and Accessibility sectors — with a strong, consistent pipeline of work.
Our team is diverse, multi-skilled and collaborative. As we head into 2026, we are expanding and looking for both Trade Assistants and Qualified Carpenters who want to build a long-term career in a supportive, innovative environment.

What Your New Role Involves
Across both trade levels, you will:
* Work on commercial and government projects involving building, joinery, fit-outs, refurbishments and upgrades
* Perform finishing trade tasks including cabinetry, patching/plastering, minor tiling and painting
* Assist with or carry out accessible modifications in kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and external areas
* Communicate effectively with the team, contractors and stakeholders
* Use job management software to complete site documentation and record project progress
* Support schedules, materials handling, site setup and quality control
* Maintain safe work practices and uphold CBR Qld's WHS and quality standards
* Contribute to a positive, respectful and solutions-focused team environment
Trade Assistants
* Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a TA or similar role
* Competent with basic power tools and safe manual handling
* Able to read and interpret general plans and instructions
* Willingness to learn additional skills across multiple trades
* Physically fit and reliable with strong teamwork and communication
* Basic computer skills – job software experience advantageous
* Relevant trade qualification with 5+ years experience
* Strong capability across framing, fit-off, refurb works or commercial maintenance
* Confidence working autonomously or leading by example on site
* Ability to mentor junior staff or TAs
* Knowledge of building codes, standards and multi-trade interfaces
* Experience with finishing trades is advantageous but not essential
Requirements (All Applicants)
* Construction White/Blue Card
* Willing to obtain: NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card), Working with Children (Blue Card) and Queensland Police Check, provide references.
* Strong problem-solving skills, professionalism and a commitment to quality
