About this Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Guidance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading key activities and delivering the following tasks:
* Advocating, providing counselling, psychoeducational assessments and individual student support.
* Working with multidisciplinary teams to provide a comprehensive support service that optimises students' access and engagement in educational programs.
* Providing counselling and referral services to assist students in decision making about educational, personal, social, emotional and career development.
* Conducting student observations and psychoeducational assessments to determine learning difficulties and make recommendations for educational adjustments.
* Assisting schools in implementing policies and processes related to student protection, gifted education, behaviour support and risk management.
* Supporting students in secondary schools with Senior Education and Training (SET) planning, career development and future pathway options counselling.
* Maintaining confidentiality and privacy while sharing information with others and keeping professional records.
* Participating in professional development and implementing skill development programs for administrators, teachers and parents.
