Handyman Workshop All Rounder Position.- $45.00 Per Hour Plus over time Penalty Rates.- Day Shift, Mon – Fri, (6.30am – 2.36pm).- Immediate Starts, 6 Months Initial Contract, with a view to extend.Company Overview:Our Valued Rail services client is one of the largest integrated and diversified suppliers of railroad and transit system products and services in Australia. An opportunity exists for an experienced handyman all-rounder that can complete basic carpentry, mechanical & welding tasks to join their workshop team on a Mon – Fri Day shift based in the organisations Rydalmere Rail Maintenance facility.Position Overview:Working as an agile team member who’s responsible for completing carpentry/cabinetry, mechanical & welding assembly tasks (anything that arises) within the controlled workshop environment.Role Tasks & Duties:The role includes but is not limited to:Following schematic drawings to assemble cabinetry & wood workshop benches.Mechanical disassembly & reassembly tasks if required.Operating a hand TIG welder (will receive full comprehensive on job training if required).Cutting, punching, forming, stamping & welding mild steel.Following detailed schematic drawings to ensure accurate structures are completed.Skills, Experience and Competencies:Must have proven mild steel welding fabrication, carpentry & mechanical practical skill set.HRW Forklift License & VOC in overhead crane advantageous.Certification III in Cabinetry / Carpentry, Mechanical &/Or Welding Maker Fabrication highly desirable.Additional requirements:All interviewers will be required to complete an onsite welding competency test, plus demonstrate carpentry & mechanical skill sets.What Is On Offer:$45.00 Per Hour, plus over time Penalty Rates.Mon – Fri 38 Hours Working Week.Day Shift standard hours – 6.30am – 2.36pmImmediate starts, 6 Months initial contract, with a view to extend.In return the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a great team environment at the organisations Rydalmere rail maintenance centre.If this role attracts your interest, we look forward to hearing from you so please either apply now or email your current resume to dean.harrison@2xmrecruit.com.au
