About the Role
Whitehaven Coal is seeking an experienced Field Maintenance Supervisor with strong dragline and shovel maintenance experience to join our team at Blackwater Mine in the Bowen Basin.
This leadership role is key to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient execution of maintenance on heavy mining equipment. You will supervise and mentor a team of tradespeople, drive compliance with safety and maintenance systems, and support the availability and performance of critical production assets.
What You'll Do
* Supervise and coordinate field maintenance teams working on draglines, shovels, and other large-scale mining equipment.
* Conduct field inspections, risk assessments, and safety interactions to maintain strong compliance.
* Supervise and develop a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a safety-first culture.
* Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Plan, prioritize, and oversee maintenance work to maximize equipment availability and operational efficiency.
* Collaborate with mine operations to minimize downtime and improve overall productivity.
* Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure maintenance standards are met.
* Drive continuous improvement in maintenance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
What You'll Bring
* Trade qualification in mechanical, electrical, or relevant field.
* Strong technical background in dragline and shovel maintenance (essential).
* Proven experience in maintenance supervision within the mining sector.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
* Solid understanding of maintenance systems, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence.
* Relevant technical qualifications or trade certifications are preferred.
