About The Role
The Food & Pharmaceutical Division operates a modern laboratory in Melbourne (Scoresby) that is equipped with the latest in analytical technology.
The division is seeking a Laboratory Technician to become part of the Pharmaceutical Microbiology team on a permanent basis. This hands‑on role involves preparing, blending, and weighing samples, ensuring accurate results within holding times, completing paperwork, and maintaining efficient and safe lab operations to meet client turnaround goals.
Ideal candidates will have a science qualification or lab certificate, strong communication and organisational skills, and a commitment to quality, safety, and client service. Experience in a high‑throughput lab environment is preferred.
This role is Monday to Friday 10.30am to 6.45pm .
The Day to Day
The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties including the following:
* Processing pharmaceutical samples for analysis
* Ensuring samples are analysed within holding times
* Weighing and checking samples
* Fast‑paced work with accuracy required
* Blend food samples
* Completion of paperwork
* Ensuring client turnaround times are met
* Ensuring the laboratory operates in an efficient and safe manner
* Housekeeping tasks
* Daily ad hock tasks
The Essentials
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
* Minimum of a laboratory certificate or qualification in science
* Ability to undertake reasonable overtime as required
* Involved in daily housekeeping of the laboratory
* A strong commitment to client service
* Ability to work well in a team orientated environment
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Dedication to good laboratory practices with regards to quality of results and health and safety
* Previous experience in a high throughput, client‑focused environment, preferred
