OverviewProject Officer, Counter Terrorism Coordination role at Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria.
This position provides a critical role within the Counter Terrorism Coordination team.The Department is seeking a Project Officer to contribute to the Counter Terrorism Coordination (CTC) team and to strengthen the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Service Delivery Model across Corrections and Justice Services, including operational support to the Violent Extremism Identification Panel.About The Business UnitThe Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria, Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
Corrections Victoria is responsible for a safe, secure and humane system that provides programs and services that support rehabilitation through addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Counter Terrorism Coordination (CTC) within Sentence Management Division is responsible for the operational strategic direction of CVE across Corrections Victoria and Justice Services.
CTC ensures that the CJS approach to CVE evolves with current and emerging evidence of positive practice in the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals at risk of committing or who have committed religiously or ideologically motivated violent extremism.
CTC works closely with internal stakeholders including Complex Classification Unit, Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit, Forensic Intervention Services and Parole Central Unit, and external stakeholders including Victoria Police, Attorney General's Department, Australian Federal Police and the Victorian Government Solicitor's Office.Some Of Your Duties Will IncludeMaintain data and project planning for the Violent Extremism Identification Panel and the review process, including preparing agendas and minute taking.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and focus on understanding their key issues.Ensure that programs and projects are successfully delivered, through proactively identifying and managing project risks, creating efficient business systems and execution strategies, applying organisational strategies, frameworks and priorities to plan, guide and monitor complex projects in order to meet long-term objectives.Develop project scopes and briefs that clearly define the requirements and objectives of the project.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:Excellent data management, written and communication skills.Demonstrated experience in project management teams, ideally within a Government environment, is desirable.Knowledge/experience in either the field of violent extremism or operational environments is desirable.Qualifications/RequirementsA relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage.How To ApplyPlease click the Apply button on this advertisement.
