Queensland is in an exciting time in its history and is looking towards the future. This role of Assistant Under Treasurer (AUT), Investment Facilitation leads the development of innovative private sector project proposals that enhance economic outcomes for Queensland. This role sits within Queensland Treasury.
You will be responsible for the promotion of Queensland as an attractive investment location, the creation of a portfolio of targeted investment opportunities and the facilitation of major investment opportunities, leading the Investment Facilitation team to ensure that deals are done and economic benefits are delivered. You will also facilitate meetings and develop relationships with other government departments in order to achieve outcomes. The AUT will be responsible for budget and resource management and reporting requirements.
Day to day, the AUT is responsible for identifying, promoting, attracting, and facilitating investments that best leverage Queensland's advantages and opportunities. This will include investor targeting and engagement nationally and internationally, hosting inward delegations and working with key stakeholders to attract investment into Queensland. Critical to the role is the ability to work at pace with investors to secure significant investment opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have high-level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative capabilities with an understanding of the political, social, economic and commercial environment to make informed, sound judgements. A results-focused approach is important, and you will be required to cultivate exceptional productive working relationships. You will have the ability to lead, manage and motivate people, along with a proven capacity to build and grow partnerships. You will be leading a team of approx. 17 FTEs, including talented Directors who will ensure that goals are achieved.
