The Organisation:
Mars is partnering with an organisation undergoing a significant period of change and is seeking a technically strong Financial Controller to provide support on an interim basis.
This opportunity is well suited to an experienced Financial Controller who is immediately available and seeking to commence a role prior to the new year.
As the position will transition to a permanent appointment, strong performance in the interim capacity will ensure the incumbent is given full consideration for the ongoing role.
The Role:
Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with AASB.
Manage all statutory reporting obligations, including BAS, FBT, PAYG, payroll tax, and other regulatory filings.
Oversee external audit processes end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery of audit requirements and continuous improvement of controls.
Maintain and strengthen the compliance framework, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and industry standards.
Own the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data.
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls, accounting policies, and governance procedures.
Provide hands-on support across finance operations, including reconciliations, journals, fixed assets, and cash flow management
Partner with senior management to provide financial insights, forecasting support to drive business performance.
The Requirements:
CA/CPA qualified, Ideally with Big 4 training and 5+ years in commerce.
Strong capability in statutory reporting, technical accounting, and Australian compliance requirements.
Hands-on experience managing BAS, FBT, payroll tax, PAYG, and ASIC filings.
Solid understanding of AASB/IFRS and ability to resolve technical accounting issues.
Proven track record leading audits and strengthening internal controls.
Strong with systems and driving process improvements.
Confident communicator with the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
