What's the role?
The Senior Manager – Payments Strategy plays a key role in Westpac's Commercial and Product Profitability squad, driving strategic initiatives across mobile wallets, digital cards, and emerging technologies. This role is central to shaping the future of consumer payments, with a focus on innovation, fraud mitigation, and seamless customer experiences. You'll lead the strategic direction of our payments portfolio and leverage deep expertise in the payments ecosystem—including regulatory frameworks, fraud trends, and market dynamics—to position Westpac as a leader in the Australian payments landscape. You'll also influence strategy, manage commercial partnerships, and ensure secure, competitive, customer-centric offerings.
What do I need?
* Experience in financial services/telco, etc with a strong focus on cards, payments, and mobile payment technologies.
* Proven track record in payments strategy, product development, and commercial negotiation.
* Deep understanding of the Australian payments ecosystem, including regulatory bodies, scheme rules, and fraud trends.
* Experience with Agile, LEAN, and transformation methodologies.
* Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Passion for innovation and emerging payment technologies.
