About the position:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the right person to join our organisation as Team Leader here at LDS. This opportunity will provide you with a leadership position which will involve guiding and supporting a small and dedicated team in continuing to deliver high-quality, innovative services to individuals living with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor team members, promoting professional development and teamwork.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations. Provide go to support for the team
- Facilitate and document regular and engaging team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement strategies that enhance service delivery and client satisfaction. Provide feedback on the effectiveness within the team.
- Seek input from the team and collaborate with other internal and external departments to align goals and share best practices.
- Foster a cooperative work environment that aligns with each LDS core value
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback to staff regularly.
Main Tasks
- Create and maintain accurate daily task cards for team members ensuring they adequately address all client needs.
- Assist rostering in scheduling daily supports, appointing part time status, filling ad hoc and last minute leave requests. Ensure overtime is only utilised as a last resort and all other avenues to cover shifts have been exhausted.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations, quarterly staff reviews and assist in the recruitment of new staff as necessary.
- Resolve conflicts within the team promptly and professionally, while maintaining a positive work environment and culture. Seek assistance from Management and Human Resources when required.
- Participate in training sessions, meetings and development opportunities to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of team activities, meetings, incidents, and service outcomes.
This role requires a proactive approach to leadership, with an emphasis on team collaboration, compassion, and innovation in service provision. Our Team Leaders are an essential part in shaping the culture of excellence within Lutheran Disability Services.

Required experiences

- Experience in working with diverse populations, including individuals with physical disabilities and mental illness
- A track record of promoting a positive workplace culture and enhancing employee engagement
- Familiarity with compliance regulations relevant to the disability services industry
