Position Title: Digital Content Producer

The Digital Content Producer is responsible for managing the publishing of policy content using Squiz CMS. Working with policy experts, the role ensures that content is optimised, accessible, and aligned with the Agency's brand and publishing standards. The role also involves providing support to colleagues on content editing and contributing to a strong digital presence by maintaining high-quality website content. The Digital Content Producer works closely with internal stakeholders, particularly policy teams, to ensure content is findable, engaging, polished, and meets accessibility standards.
Responsibilities
Content Production
Manage the publishing process for specific areas of the Agency's website.
Ensure all policy content aligns with the Agency's brand, tone of voice, and visual identity.
Publish a variety of content types using Squiz CMS, including reports, submissions, publications, landing pages, and general web content.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve user journeys through internal linking and content cross-referencing.
Write and optimise metadata descriptions for improved searchability.
Content Quality Assurance
Quality assure web content for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards.
Resolve content issues including:
broken links
spelling errors
missing/incomplete metadata or alt tags
duplicate or outdated content
accessibility or formatting issues
Archive webpages and implement redirects where required.
Migrate content to the current site architecture as needed.
Conduct basic reviews of Google Analytics data (e.g. page views).
Ensure content meets relevant standards, including WCAG 2.1 AA.
Tag and organise content for optimal discoverability.
Monitor and track improvements to web content.
Task Management
Work collaboratively with Content Editors to ensure updates are delivered within agreed timeframes.
Support planning and delivery of digital projects as required.
Professional Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated experience producing and editing content for the web.
Proficiency in content management systems, ideally Squiz or Drupal.
Strong attention to detail, including grammar, spelling, and accessibility compliance.
Basic understanding of HTML.
Ability to manage large volumes of content and follow established quality assurance processes.
Experience training non-technical users in CMS basics and maintaining training documentation.
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Ability to engage and manage relationships with policy experts and other internal stakeholders.
Analytical skills, including experience with reviewing web analytics data.
Relevant qualifications or equivalent skilled experience.
Leadership and Management
Experience leading small content projects from planning to completion.
Ability to manage business requirements, timelines, and stakeholder communication.

Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
