Sonographer Position Overview
This role is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Medical Radiation Practitioner to join the Radiology Team at Lithgow Hospital. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality imaging services that are patient-focused and aligned with the objectives of Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ultrasound principles and be able to competently perform a range of clinical procedures. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities will include supervising and mentoring other Medical Radiation Scientists and undergraduates, assisting with the assessment of clinical competence of trainee sonographers, and participating in the development and review of protocols and techniques.

About the Role
Requirements and Qualifications
* Degree in Medical Radiation Science and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) as a Medical Radiation Practitioner (Diagnostic Radiography)
* Current I14 Radiation license from NSW EPA and ASAR Registration
* Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound
* Demonstrated high standard of knowledge, clinical experience, and proficiency in Ultrasound across a broad range of examinations
* Ability to supervise, instruct, and mentor other MRS and undergraduates
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
