4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art is an independent not-for-profit organisation based in Haymarket, Sydney. Since 1996, 4A has been a leading platform for contemporary Asian and Asian-Australian art, fostering cultural dialogue between Australia and Asia through exhibitions, public programs, research and community engagement.
In 2026, 4A will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a year-long program of ambitious exhibitions, public programs and collaborations.
Role Description
The Gallery Operations Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the 4A team and assists in the management of 4A's venue and front-of-house operations. Working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and volunteers, this role supports the smooth day-to-day running of the gallery and office, including visitor services, exhibition installation and deinstallation, public programs and the volunteer program.
Reporting to the Deputy Director and working closely with a second Gallery Operations Coordinator, the role contributes to delivering a welcoming, safe and efficient public-facing contemporary art space, while supporting 4A's mission to grow audiences and engagement with Asian Australian contemporary art.
