We are seeking an experienced, values-driven leader to join our Community Services team as Senior Manager Homelessness and Financial Wellbeing
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, values-driven leader to join our Community Services team as Senior Manager Homelessness and Financial Wellbeing (12 month Parental Leave Contract). This role provides leadership across a portfolio of services supporting people experiencing homelessness and financial hardship.
The portfolio includes crisis accommodation, housing stability programs, financial counselling and community-based financial capability initiatives.
This role will provide strategic oversight and operational leadership, ensuring services continue to deliver high-quality, person-centred support. The successful candidate will work closely with the Community Services leadership team to maintain service excellence, support staff and program delivery, and contribute to ongoing service development during the contract period.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support teams delivering Homelessness and Financial Wellbeing, providing coaching, guidance and performance support.
* Ensure the service operates effectively and meets all funding, compliance and reporting requirements.
* Work collaboratively with other Community Services leaders to enhance wrap‐around supports and integrated service responses.
* Maintain strong partnerships with government departments, funding bodies, and sector stakeholders.
* Oversee data collection and reporting systems to ensure accurate and timely performance insights.
* Lead the development and implementation of operational plans, with opportunities for staff input and collaboration.
* Identify and lead tender submissions and funding opportunities to expand and strengthen services.
* Champion innovation through the design and implementation of evidence-informed programs.
* Promote consumer voice and participation, fostering self‐determination, independence, and community inclusion.
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated leadership experience in a community or human services context, managing multidisciplinary teams.
* Proven ability in strategic planning, service design, policy development, and program evaluation.
* Strong understanding of homelessness, financial hardship, and related social justice issues.
* Knowledge of government and non-government funding systems, with experience in budget oversight and financial management.
* Strong interpersonal, organisational, and team development skills.
* Sound knowledge of the community services landscape and available supports for vulnerable individuals.
* Experience in community development and systems thinking approaches.
* A collaborative, compassionate, and outcomes‐driven leadership style.
