You will be working as part of the Guy Carpenter Analytics team on delivering analytics services to clients and providing support to the reinsurance teams gathering and preparing data for assigned client projects.
This is an opportunity within a growing team for a suitable candidate to apply their analytics knowledge to a number of high-profile clients as well as develop their consulting, leadership and project management skills.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of the Guy Carpenter Analytics team on delivering analytical services to clients across the Pacific region and provide support to reinsurance teams.
* Utilise commercial catastrophe models and in-house models to generate outputs, with appropriate interpretation of results.
* Lead catastrophe modelling for renewals, including delivery of client presentations, resolving queries and developing client relationships.
* Work with actuarial teams to provide outputs and analytical analysis for clients and prospects.
* Evaluate catastrophe model outputs and undertake model evaluation studies for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
* Integrate climate model outputs with catastrophe risk models to inform model adjustments and future projections.
* Complete real‑time reporting and analysis of natural disasters and providing support to clients post event.
* Perform general administrative duties, including compliance with established systems and protocols.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification with Honours/Masters in Geosciences, Mathematics or Statistics.
* Experience with catastrophe modelling software including RiskLink, Risk Modeller or Verisk Touchstone, with 5 years+ experience preferred.
* Experience with programming languages including R (preferred) and Python.
* Experience with database software including SQL Server would be beneficial.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Good problem‑solving skills and proactive aptitude.
* Ability to organise and synthesise large datasets.
