As part of MSP, the Support for Trafficked People Program supports people who have experienced modern slavery in their recovery journey. Australian Red Cross recognises that placements give students the opportunity to gain specific skills to their subject or industry of choice as well as the employability skills required for real-life work. It increases their knowledge of an industry or sector, allowing them to make better informed decisions about their future career choices. It will also provide a helpful insight into organisational culture, professional socialisation, applied skills and working relationships. The opportunity The purpose of the Student Placement in Migration Support Programs is primarily to support the operations of the Support for Trafficked People Program through desk reviews, mapping processes, policy development, and service improvement in the context of modern slavery and family/domestic violence support. The impact The Support for Trafficked People Program protect and uphold the health, dignity and wellbeing of people who have experienced modern slavery in Australia. The Student Placement impact will be tangible contributing to service coordination, policy development, awareness raising and prevention, and strengthening operational tools. Application requirements For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross To submit this application, you will need to upload a recent copy of your CV and provide details for two professional references The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory.
