Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm
What the Client needs
Our client is the oldest and largest private biller for Anaesthetists on the Sunshine Coast. They currently support over 55 Anaesthetists (and growing) who provide services from Caboolture to Noosa. Working in a team environment of 13 currently, the position requires a wide range of duties, as necessary to provide the appropriate level of support to the Anaesthetists and Practice Manager.
About the position
You will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, present with a confident and professional phone manner (as this role is predominantly phone-based), and display a high level of initiative and problem‑solving ability. You will also take satisfaction in providing reliable support during periods of staff leave.
Key responsibilities
* Handling patient queries and bookings, primarily over the phone
* Providing estimates / quotes for anaesthetic services associated with surgeries
* Billing to patients upon completion of surgeries, receipting and following up on outstanding accounts
* Booking Anaesthetists for surgeries on an ad‑hoc basis
* Liaising extensively with external providers i.e. – surgeons' rooms, hospitals and day surgeries
* Providing financial reports to Anaesthetists i.e. banking, invoicing, outstanding patient accounts
* Assisting the practice manager with diary management, medical software, and administrative support
What we are looking for
* Ability to quickly adapt to learning new software and processes
* Fast and accurate data entry with attention to detail paramount
* Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work commitments in a high‑pressure environment
* Ability to work autonomously and also within a team, bringing a collaborative attitude and team focus
* Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel (skills testing will be required for all shortlisted candidates)
* Experience with medical software an advantage
* Prior experience working for a billing service or medical/anaesthetic practice is highly regarded
