Job Title: Planning Team Lead
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our planning team as a Planning Team Lead. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of urban planners, ensuring correct staffing levels and resourcing of projects, maintaining a high level of engagement with team members, and working with partner team leads across other disciplines to achieve project outcomes.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation. You will also have experience in project management, with the ability to coordinate and lead complex projects from inception to completion.
In this role, you will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver high-quality results that meet or exceed client expectations. You will be responsible for developing project plans, strategies, and resource requirements, as well as managing the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments, and other planning documentation.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
* Demonstrated leadership experience in a consultancy environment or similar.
* Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
* Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
* Self-motivated and self-directed.
* Interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers, and clients.
* Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
* Drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions.
