Rock Steady Mining is seeking an experienced and motivated Logistics Manager to lead and optimise logistics, warehousing, and supply chain functions across mining and construction projects in Southern Cross. This role supports safe, efficient, and cost‑effective movement of materials, equipment, and consumables essential to project delivery.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for:
* Managing end‑to‑end logistics operations, including inbound and outbound freight coordination, warehousing, inventory control, and transport scheduling.
* Overseeing logistics requirements for construction materials, plant and equipment, consumables, and site‑specific operational needs.
* Developing and implementing logistics strategies that enhance efficiency, cost control, and safety compliance.
* Building and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers, freight partners, and internal project stakeholders.
* Identifying and resolving logistics challenges, delivery discrepancies, and risks to timelines or project continuity.
* Monitoring stock levels, delivery schedules, transport costs, warehouse utilisation, and performance metrics.
* Leading logistics reporting, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Supporting system improvements, including updates to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related operational tools.
* Ensuring compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and relevant industry standards.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience & Competencies
* 5–10 years’ experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations, ideally within mining, construction, or heavy industry.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
* Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Solid Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
* Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate stakeholders, and maintain high operational standards.
* Competence in using logistics, inventory, or warehouse management software.
* Strong customer‑service focus and commitment to meeting internal and external client needs.
* Excellent time‑management skills and ability to enforce company policies and procedures.
