**Job Description**:
The General Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of the Minerals, Oil & Gas business. This includes leading a diverse portfolio to enable delivery of our business objectives and contributing at both a strategic and operational level.
This role will oversee the identification of growth areas in consultation with the Business Development team whilst driving a unified culture of safety, people, customer and operational excellence.
They will:
- Contribute to the Toll Resources & Industrials Strategic direction, whilst being accountable for the development and execution of the sub-vertical objectives and targets.
- Identify and drive growth opportunities within the industry and cross business opportunities to contribute to the wider Toll strategic direction; including strategic acquisitions, open up new markets, capture new opportunities.
- Create a culture of safety, people, customer and operational excellence; create a high performance team that drives continuous improvement of their own standards of performance in areas of quality, efficiency, customer service, safety and environmental.
- Exercise strong business and commercial acumen in new and existing opportunities to achieve profitable long-term partnering arrangements.
- Build strong relationships with our customer/s and identity opportunities to grow our business through a sustainable and integrated business model whilst leveraging Toll's capabilities across the supply chain.
- Provide strong leadership, creating a positive workplace culture through collaboration and influencing the mindset of our people to improve the overall capability of the region.
- Ensure the resources (people, systems, financial) and assets are available to meet the region's business plan.
**Qualifications**:
The General Manager will have a tertiary qualification in logistics or business-related discipline or equivalent experience and demonstrated management experience in transport, logistics or related industry.
Additionally they will have:
- Strong people leadership with a proven ability to drive organisational culture and results
- Strong customer service orientation - excellent understanding and strong curiosity about our customers and what adds value to them
- Ability to consider a broad range of internal and external factors when solving problems and making decisions
- Strong analytical skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and fatigue management as it pertains to the Transport industry, specifically including dangerous goods
- Demonstrated collaborative nature - seeks to improve overall Toll business results.
