Melbourne Pathology is seeking applications for a Chemical Pathologist to join our team, led by Dr Andrew Carter, based at the main laboratory in Collingwood. There are flexible employment opportunities, with a preference for full-time employment (1.0 FTE). Early and late career fellows, and registrars completing fellowship within 2025, are welcome to apply.
Our large Chemical Pathology service provides a 24-hour high-throughput core laboratory, as well as specialised protein and chromatography areas. We also have an AS4308 accredited Toxicology Service and provide immunosuppressant testing. New method development and evaluation is ongoing, and involvement in this process is encouraged.

The preferred candidate will be highly motivated, both pragmatic and innovative, enthusiastic about education within and beyond the practice, and able to adapt to the changing demands and opportunities in Chemical Pathology. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a heart for collaboration. As an important member of our medical practice, the preferred candidate will have the doctor–patient relationship at the centre of every decision.
Applicants are required to hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, specialising in Chemical Pathology, and be eligible for registration as a specialist pathologist by AHPRA.
