About the Role We are seeking a keen and motivated Apprentice Fitter Toolmaker (Fitter & Turner) to join our Aluminium Products Toolroom in Eagle Farm. This is a hands-on, full-time role that supports your completion of a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade over the course of your apprenticeship. As an apprentice, you’ll gain comprehensive training across a wide range of workshop functions. You will be mentored by experienced tradespeople and will gradually take on more responsibility as your skills and knowledge develop. Key Responsibilities Assist in the manufacture and maintenance of extrusion dies, jigs, and fixtures used in aluminium production Set up and operate CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other workshop equipment Carry out manual machining, drilling, grinding, and fitting tasks Use a range of precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, verniers) to ensure product accuracy Interpret and work from technical and engineering drawings Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of tools and machinery Follow workplace safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organised work environment Participate in structured on-the-job and off-site training as part of your trade qualification About You Passionate about hands-on work, machinery, and mechanical systems Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and safety-conscious mindset Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills Able to read and interpret technical drawings Team player with a willingness to learn and take direction Previous exposure to a workshop, TAFE program, or mechanical/engineering environment (desirable but not essential) What We Offer A structured and supported pathway to becoming a qualified tradesperson Competitive EBA apprentice wages (junior and adult rates) Mentoring and guidance from highly skilled Toolmakers and Fitters Modern, well-equipped toolroom with a focus on innovation and craftsmanship Opportunities for future employment and progression upon completion Free onsite parking and monthly RDOs for work-life balance How to Apply If you’re ready to kick-start a career in a secure, respected, and rewarding trade, we’d love to hear from you.
