About The Role
The Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities will play a vital role in maintaining the school's grounds and facilities to a high standard. Reporting directly to the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the school by performing a variety of routine and non-routine tasks.
Key Responsibilities Include
Maintaining school grounds, including mowing, gardening, and general landscaping tasks.
Performing basic repairs and maintenance of school facilities, furniture, and equipment.
Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment.
Supporting school events by preparing activity areas, moving furniture, and assisting with logistics.
Coordinating waste removal and maintaining cleanliness across school grounds.
This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
About You
The following traits would be beneficial:
Experience in grounds maintenance, including the use of small hand tools and equipment such as mowers and brush cutters.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, particularly in relation to grounds and facilities maintenance.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and addressing maintenance needs.
Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with staff, students, and external contractors.
