The Role - Full-time 12 month fixed-term contract
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events Manager to join our Digital Transformation/Marketing team. The role is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating a diverse range of internal and external events across Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT). This includes community events, corporate functions, staff engagement activities, and stakeholder launches.
* Develop and manage the events calendar, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and stakeholder needs.
* Lead end-to-end project management of events, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and budget tracking.
* Oversee all event logistics, including venue booking, catering, AV, permits, signage, and accessibility requirements.
* Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging, ensure representation, and support departmental objectives.
* Manage relationships with event vendors, ensuring quality, timeliness, and value for money.
* Lead setup, delivery, and pack-down of events, ensuring smooth operations and responsive problem-solving.
* Measure event success through feedback, KPIs, and post-event reporting to inform future planning.
Requirements
You will have proven experience in the event management space and be able to bring your creativity, energy and exceptional interpersonal skills to this role! You will be joining a driven team who work together to meet SCC's wider company goals and will engage with all levels of internal stakeholders, Creative and Media Agencies and local communities across NSW & ACT.
* Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
* Proven experience in an Event Manager role with ROI outcomes
* Familiarity with Aged Care, Health or Not-for-Profit Sector is highly regarded
* Demonstrate proven leadership skills, with a focus on nurturing teamwork, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving collective success across various organisational departments
* Possess outstanding communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and compellingly, thereby fostering understanding and motivating teams to embrace and implement changes
* Experience with digital platforms, CMS, analytics, and social media
* Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving in challenging situations, employing creativity and practical solutions to overcome obstacles and maintain progress
