Technical Director – Electrical (Principal Engineer level)
We are seeking a Technical Director – Electrical to join our dynamic South Queensland Power Team. The role involves providing technical leadership, directing power projects, developing and mentoring engineering talent, and supporting strategic operations and internal capability building.
Responsibilities
* Leverage expertise in electrical engineering principles to drive sustainable and impactful energy solutions and contribute significantly to clean energy integration.
* Spearhead the development and implementation of innovative solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity, and optimizing the performance of renewable energy sources within the grid infrastructure.
* Provide technical leadership and directorship of power projects, technical development, mentoring of developing team members, strategic operational support, and internal capability building through work winning activities and priority project delivery.
Qualifications
* Degree level qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
* Recognized authority in HV Substation Design and renewable energy development, with RPEQ, and a minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience.
* Strong understanding of technical design standards and demonstrated experience in design and delivery of large-scale substation and transmission/distribution projects.
* Practical understanding of QLD utility power requirements and operational constraints.
* Eligible for defence clearance to lead defence projects.
* Skill in nurturing developing engineering talent while steering challenging infrastructure projects to successful completion.
* Proven ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary project teams and manage stakeholder engagement.
* Strong relationship building skills and client orientation.
* Ability to work on complex projects, making confident decisions from concept level to detail design.
