Job Description
Operational Excellence
* Own and maintain inventory accuracy and integrity, ensuring alignment between physical stock and system records.
* Manage inbound goods received from overseas manufacturing and distribution centers, including receipt, inspection, and put-away.
* Storage, picking, packing, and dispatch activities in line with agreed service levels.
* Coordinate and book logistics providers to support domestic and complete picking for international shipments.
* Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, service performance, and cost control.
* Monitor operational performance and escalate risks or issues impacting service levels, compliance, or cost to the Supply Chain Supervisor as required.
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure warehouse activities are conducted in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements, internal procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse environment at all times.
* Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
* Coordinate warehouse maintenance activities and manage the ordering and control of warehouse consumables.
* Promote compliance with WHS requirements and company quality standards across all warehouse operations.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
* Work in close partnership with internal stakeholders across Customer Service, Service, Supply Chain, Finance, and Quality to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
* Communicate effectively with internal teams and external logistics partners to support operational objectives.
* Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Operational Leadership
* Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring activities are appropriately prioritized and resourced.
* Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job support to junior warehouse staff.
* Act as a first point of escalation for operational issues, supporting the Supply Chain Supervisor with timely resolution.
* Foster a culture of accountability, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Warehouse Leading Hand Should Have
* Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
* A solid understanding of inventory management systems and processes.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
* Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards.
* Attention to detail and a proactive approach to challenges.
* Proficiency with relevant software and tools used in warehouse operations.
