We invite expressions of interest for casual teaching opportunities that may arise in 2026 to support the delivery of the Diploma of Health Sciences at Macquarie University College.
THE ROLE
The Macquarie University College within Macquarie University is currently inviting expressions of interest from appropriately qualified and experienced people to teach units within the Diploma of Health Sciences in 2026: Professional Practice (in Health), Evidence Based Practice in Health, Health Systems, Lifestyle Factors for Health and Wellbeing, Health, Society and Culture, Human Structure and Function, Introductory Psychology for Health Sciences, and Misconceptions in the Modern World.
All teaching at Macquarie University College is undertaken in-person on Macquarie University's Wallumattagal Campus (North Ryde) during the day and/or evening.
Appointed casual teachers are expected to prepare and deliver lessons, prepare and mark assessments, supervise in-class assessments and examinations, manage and submit results, undertake student consultation, closely monitor student progress and attendance, participate in meetings, and liaise with staff.
*Please note that casual teaching positions are not available for visa sponsorship, and successful applicants must have full work rights in Australia.
ABOUT YOU
Key Competencies:
To be considered for a casual teaching position, applicants must possess the following:
* An undergraduate degree (3 years +) or postgraduate qualification in Health Sciences or a health-related discipline. Additional undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in Teaching/Education would be considered an advantage.
* At least two years of experience in teaching in an Australian higher education institution, preferably in a University College pathway context.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
* Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
Desired Criteria:
Preference will be given to applicants with higher relevant degrees and/or more relevant teaching experience.
Successful Expressions of Interest will be kept on file and may be considered by the College when a vacancy appropriate to their skill base and disciplinary background arises.
