Finding the best talent for Publicis Groupe ANZ

We're looking for a Senior Performance Manager who will be instrumental in shaping and executing our paid search strategy for key FMCG clients. You'll be responsible for leading the planning, implementation, optimisation, and reporting of all SEM initiatives, ensuring we achieve and exceed our clients' performance goals and contribute directly to their market share growth. This role requires a blend of analytical prowess, creative thinking, and strong client communication skills, as you'll also mentor junior team members and collaborate closely with cross-functional agency teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

* Develop and execute comprehensive paid search strategies aligned with specific FMCG client business objectives, marketing goals, and budget constraints, focusing on driving brand awareness, sales, and market penetration for consumer products.
* Lead the end-to-end management of large-scale, complex SEM campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads), and potentially retail media platforms (e.g., Amazon Ads, retailer-specific search platforms) if applicable to the FMCG client's strategy.
* Conduct in-depth keyword research, audience segmentation (considering consumer behaviour, purchase intent, and brand loyalty within FMCG), and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities and optimise existing campaigns.
* Continuously monitor campaign performance, identify trends specific to consumer purchasing cycles and seasonal demand, and implement data-driven optimisations to improve key metrics such as ROAS, CPA, CTR, and conversion rates for consumer products.
* Manage and optimise campaign bids, budgets, and targeting strategies to maximise efficiency and achieve desired outcomes for FMCG product lines and promotions.
* Develop and implement A/B testing frameworks for ad copy (e.g., promotional messaging, product benefits), landing pages, and campaign settings to drive continuous improvement.

Performance Analysis & Client Reporting:

* Provide regular, insightful performance reports and dashboards, clearly communicating results, key learnings, and actionable recommendations directly to clients.
* Utilise advanced analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, client-specific attribution models, internal dashboards) to deep dive into performance data and identify opportunities for optimisation and market insights for FMCG categories.
* Forecast future performance and develop scenarios to inform strategic decisions for client campaigns.
* Work closely with the wider agency team (client service, SEO, Paid Social, Content, Analytics) to ensure integrated campaign strategies and a cohesive consumer journey across all touchpoints.
* Collaborate with client teams to align on goals, share insights, and leverage their product and market knowledge effectively.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering their growth in paid search expertise within the agency context.

Innovation & Industry Knowledge:

* Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and algorithm changes in the SEM landscape, particularly those impacting the FMCG sector and consumer behaviour.
* Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and approaches to enhance our paid search capabilities for client accounts.
* Proactively identify and implement opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.

Budget Management:

* Manage significant client paid search budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation and return on investment while adhering to client-specific financial guidelines.

Required Experience & Skills:

* Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on, senior-level experience managing and optimising large-scale paid search campaigns within a media advertising agency environment.
* Demonstrable experience working with FMCG clients or in industries with high-volume, rapid consumer purchasing cycles is essential.
* Proven track record of driving significant ROI and achieving aggressive performance targets for consumer brands in a competitive environment.
* Deep expertise in all facets of Google Ads, including Search, Shopping, Display, and Video campaigns (Performance Max experience highly desirable).
* Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics (GA4 experience preferred) and other web analytics platforms.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies for clients.
* Excellent understanding of key SEM metrics (ROAS, CPA, CPC, CTR, Impression Share, Quality Score etc.) and how they impact overall performance for consumer products.
* Experience with bid management platforms (e.g., SA360, Kenshoo, Marin) is highly advantageous.
* Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis and client reporting.
* Strong communication, presentation, and client management skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely to diverse client stakeholders.
* Ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced agency environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
* Experience with A/B testing methodologies and conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
