We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Storm Bay Marine. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on problem solver who is passionate about keeping operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance, repairs and minor works on site plant and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
* Support Marine Operations by ensuring machinery is reliable and downtime is minimised to maintain optimal productivity.
* Implement preventative maintenance schedules and coordinate contractors as needed to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
* Maintain the MEX system and ensure compliance with safety procedures to guarantee a safe working environment.
* Up hold 5S organisational standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
* Liaise with stakeholders to align maintenance activities with operational priorities and ensure effective communication.
* Report regularly to the regional manager on maintenance progress and any issues that may arise.
Required Skills
* Familiarity with welding techniques (MIG, TIG and Arc) to perform high-quality repairs.
* Holding a forklift license, confined space certification and working at heights certification or being willing to obtain them.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and experience servicing plant and equipment to identify and repair faults efficiently.
* Sound knowledge of machinery maintenance and repair, including certified/registered plant to ensure compliance.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to diagnose and resolve issues promptly.
* Will ingness to undertake further training (e.g. aluminium welding, lathe operations, restricted electrical).
* Effective communication skills to collaborate with operations teams and achieve common goals.
* A current and valid driver's licence to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
* Coxswains Grade NC or willingness to obtain it to work effectively within the marine environment.
