Careers Counsellor Required for the Enhanced My Career Insights Program

Use your professional career counselling skills to help students in priority cohorts
As a career professional, you will provide additional support to help students with career exploration, identify pathways, and engage in employment readiness and work-based learning opportunities.
This role is part of the Department of Education's leading career education program, the My Career Insights Program and is an enhanced trial providing expert support in a number of schools across Melbourne Metro area. The position is for a start mid-January ****.
Full Time Position - $80,000 pa pro rata + Super Guarantee + Leave loading + use of a fully maintained vehicle.
A position is available to cover schools in the following regions, North West, North East and Outer East and could include Collingwood, Reservoir, Lalor, Doncaster, East Doncaster, Warrandyte, Scoresby, Heathmont, Lilydale, Boronia and the potential for other locations near that region.
Travel will be required to support students in other schools as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the EMCI Team Lead, the position includes:
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with program stakeholders (such as school career, wellbeing and learning support staff) in select schools liaising with relevant Department of Education staff as required.
Connecting to local industry and agencies to support opportunities for referred students and using the Morrisby profile to help students explore careers and pathway options.
Conducting career counselling sessions with students including:
delivering the Morrisby Profile "unpacking" interviews
discussing student interests and support needs
discussing pathway options and work experience
Career counsellors in the program support reporting on student progress, services and gaps in their region as related to the program.
Other tasks include:
Note taking
Ongoing specialised training
Attending regular team and peer meeting
Contributing to ACCE work as required
Contributing to the Department of Education's reporting and evaluation process.

Well organised and an effective planner.
Excellent career counselling service record with priority cohorts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Well-developed interpersonal skills
Experience using vocational tools.
High level of self-reflection and emotional intelligence.
Willingness to travel to support students in select schools.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Graduate qualifications in Career Development Practice in a CICA endorsed course at Level 8 or equivalent.
Trained to unpack the Morrisby Profile or willing to learn.
Experience working with young people with a range of barriers such as disability, mental health issues, homelessness, and disengagement.
Current and clear National Criminal Records Check and Working with Children's Check or VIT registration are required.
Current Victorian Driver's license is required.
