We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager with a strong track record in Defence environments.
Australian citizens with a NV1 clearance are desirable for this role.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Managing and monitoring the program and project delivery risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
* Conducting regular risk reviews with key stakeholders and coordinating and managing Risk Review Boards to ensure risks are actively addressed and up-to-date.
* Maintaining comprehensive risk registers for programs and projects, including opportunities.
* Developing and implementing risk management processes and procedures, ensuring they remain current and aligned with best practices.
* Ensuring accurate and timely project reporting, including contributions to Project Status Reports (PSRs).
* Performing risk-related trend analyses to inform strategic decision-making.
* Coaching and mentoring project teams on effective risk management practices.
* Facilitating consistent communication and information flow to senior executives and other stakeholders, tailoring the message to their specific needs.
Skills and Experience:
* Methodological Expertise: Proven experience in applying risk management methodologies that align with international standards, such as ISO 31000:2018.
* Project Delivery Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing project risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities within a project delivery context, ideally with an understanding of the Defence Capability Life Cycle (CLC). The CLC is Defence's end-to-end process.
* Stakeholder Management: Strong skills in building and sustaining collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, from junior to senior management, often within complex matrix structures.
* Professionalism and Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for ensuring consistent information flow and clear reporting. High levels of resilience and self-motivation are also highly valued.
* Specialised Knowledge: Experience in areas such as cybersecurity and warfare and an understanding of military operations is often sought after, along with foundational cybersecurity knowledge.
