The role
Our principal engineer role offers excellent opportunities for advancement and leadership in a dynamic environment.
Oversee complex water resource projects including water management plans, environmental impact assessments, rehabilitation plans, flood and floodplain management studies, and hydraulic design projects
Work with long-term, valued clients building strong relationships with a variety of energy and resources, government, infrastructure, and land development clients
Stretch your technical skills in water balance, hydrology, hydraulics and design, working alongside recognised industry experts and our team of specialist water resource engineers
Enhance your leadership skills and continue your professional development with mentoring from highly skilled leaders and team members, and support for training and industry events

The role can be full or part time, based from our Darwin office with flexible working arrangements.
About you
The ideal candidate is a confident and motivated principal water resources engineer, comfortable directing complex projects and progressing towards senior principal level.
Degree in relevant engineering discipline
Registered professional engineer (e.g. NER, RPEQ)
Minimum 10 years' experience in water resources engineering
Significant experience in surface water modelling of hydrologic and hydraulic processes
Expert in one (or more) fields of water balance, catchment, flooding and / or stormwater modelling (e.g. GoldSim, TUFLOW, URBS, XP-RAFTS, MUSIC)
Strong project management / direction skills and a focus on customer needs
Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills
Keen to collaborate and share knowledge in a culture of technical excellence
Extensive experience in the Australian water industry, extensive knowledge of relevant markets and competitors
