About the Role
This fantastic role is for an experienced and highly motivated Associate with between 3–5 years of experience looking to join our high performing Health team in our Newcastle office. It involves civil litigation in the health and medical negligence space as well as work in the regulatory disciplinary space, including coronial investigations and inquests, disciplinary investigations and personal injury claims. You will be heavily involved in all aspects of these matters, working closely with a close‐knit team and two high performing Principals, with opportunities for mentoring and fast career advancement.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:
* 3–5 years post admission experience with exposure to civil litigation, personal injury claims and an interest in health and medical negligence work. Experience from a plaintiff background will be considered.
* Experience working with, and analysing, high volumes of medical evidence.
* Excellent researching and drafting skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Firmly established time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
* Teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work independently.
Skills & Abilities
* Demonstrates an understanding of the legal issues relevant to health and personal injury law and responsive to clients' commercial objectives.
* Ability to provide legal advice in a commercial context with clear, succinct plain English and strong detail orientation.
* Proven ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of seniority.
* Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
* Confidence in dealing with clients directly and fostering client relationships.
* Proven time management and prioritisation of multiple active matters.
* Capacity to problem‐solve and think laterally.
