* Role can be based in Lismore, Port Macquarie, Tamworth, Coffs Harbour, or Newcastle
* Competitive Total Remuneration Package, commensurate with experience.

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is seeking a Director, Regional Coordination and Engagement to forge effective partnerships with Local Government, community leaders, Aboriginal communities and industry.

The Director will lead a dispersed regional team across Northern NSW and have a key role in prevention, preparedness and recovery. Using a community centred approach, you will lead recovery and preparedness activities to reduce the impact of future disasters.

Leading place-based teams across NSW, the division is the front door for communities to access programs that help them be stronger, safer and more resilient to disasters in a changing world. The role leverages a comprehensive understanding of local contexts, risks, and vulnerabilities to facilitate community centred recovery.

This is an excellent opportunity to work regionally, leading teams to deliver place-based activities that build resilient communities.

About You

Qualifications

We are looking for an executive with

* Experience adeptly navigating diverse stakeholder interests, fostering meaningful relationships to drive effective disaster preparedness and recovery initiatives.
* Experience in Emergency Management or Recovery Coordination
* A proven track record in successfully leading regionally dispersed teams.
* Extensive experience in leading teams through complex and dynamic environments and managing diverse stakeholders.
* A demonstrated understanding of engaging with Aboriginal Communities, including fostering trust, honouring traditional knowledge and adapting approaches to align with the needs and values of Aboriginal communities.
* An understanding and/or experience in the public sector within the northern regions of NSW.
* Ability to travel and undertake redeployments following a Natural Disaster within the region

About the Agency

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.

To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the NSW Reconstruction Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities and other stakeholders.
