Foundational services include environmental planning, vegetation and fauna plans, survey, audits and assessments.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role as a Project Ecologist/Environmental Consultant located in Burleigh Heads, Qld. The role will provide a mix of field and office-based project tasks. Fieldwork and site meetings will comprise approximately two to four days per week.You will manage client projects with high-level responsibilities that include:Supporting project outcomes, implementing existing field methodologies and the compilation of reportsInput into project budgets, project deliverables and timelinesDeveloping environmental management plans relating to fauna, botany and flora disciplines including in conjunction with our team of specialistsMapping and analysis using ArcGIS/QGIS and/or AcadFurnishing of final reports to clients, submission to prevailing authorities and provision of supplementary ecological adviceCommunication with clients and third parties to negotiate successful project outcomesInput for the work project of other team membersCross-mentoring and skill development for key staff and graduatesUtilising shared resources, work in hand and project administration softwareWorking closely with our team of scientists, educators, and staff to ensure the successful delivery of projects and programsQualificationsOver 3 years experience in ecological consulting and environmental management in QueenslandKnowledge of Queensland government regulations and policies related to the environmentStrong organisational skillsExcellent communication abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively with diverse teams and contribute in a positive way to team cultureHave a mindset to identify new business opportunitiesDemonstrable skills in building and maintaining client relationshipsPassion and creativity to fit in within social enterprise ideals and desired outcomesBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related fieldExperience with GIS softwareOur team have a unique opportunity to work on educational initiatives that impact our environment and culture.Some of the work we are most proud of is a result of this reinvestment including creating and funding Back from the Brink films and podcasts about endangered flora and fauna and working with prisoners to propagate native seedlings and nestboxesWe work outside the box.
