Building Materials Sales Professional

This position involves working with a wide variety of products to boost sales and increase repeat purchases through suggestive selling, positive approach, shared product knowledge, strong sales acumen, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

* Accurately record transactions using Point of Sale systems.
* Provide helpful service to satisfy customers' enquiries, make sales, and take orders for delivery.
* Suggest add-on sales (suggestive selling) and contribute ideas to increase store or department sales.
* Process and follow up quotes daily to qualify, refine, and close sales opportunities.
* Negotiate individual items on each quote to close sales opportunities.
* Ensure correct completion and checking of paperwork, adhering to procedures.
* Liaise with suppliers as directed by local management to manage stock levels.
* Maintain tidy work areas and showroom presentations.
* Ensure safe storage of stock.
* Aquire and maintain updated knowledge of old and new products and stock levels.
* Attend industry-related trade nights for product training.
* Undertake self-directed learning through TradeNet for relevant products.
* Maintain security over merchandise and monies from theft and damage.
* Report damage, breakage, or loss of stock to local manager or supervisor.
* Adhere to safe work practices.
* Co-operate with other departments in preparation of orders.
* Follow reasonable directions given by team lead or local manager.
* Undertake self-assessment on personal safety to adhere to assigned lifting requirements.

Requirements:

* Ability to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
* Strong team-player mentality.
* Quick learner with a proactive approach to learning.
* Experience with building materials desirable.
* Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic math functions.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
* Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
