About the Opportunity
Join a dedicated and highly skilled laboratory team where your expertise will make a real difference. In this role, you will support critical operational and research activities that help the NSW Police Force determine the presence of alcohol or drugs in people involved in motor vehicle accidents, suspected drink or drug driving, and serious offences including homicide and drug-related assaults. The work you do will directly support NSW Government legislation, policy, road safety plans, and public safety campaigns, contributing to safer roads and stronger communities across New South Wales.
What you'll be doing
Apply advanced scientific knowledge and experience to the provision of expert certificates with varying levels of complexity, ensuring the accurate, quality, timely and customer-focused provision of tests and reports in a NATA accredited Unit.

* A Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science or Applied Science with a major relevant to the Unit, or an equivalent qualification relevant to analytical or forensic science to which the role applies
* Demonstrated experience or extensive knowledge in methods, instrumentation and emerging technologies relevant to the unit, field or specialty area, in an accredited laboratory or relevant environment.
* Demonstrated extensive experience in the interpretation and reporting of complex matters, in an accredited laboratory or relevant environment.
* Demonstrated experience in the provision of expert certificates or able to meet required competencies to provide expert certificates.
* Ability to monitor and prioritise workflow effectively to ensure unit objectives and performance targets are met within specified timeframes while maintaining high quality standards.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to give lectures/presentations to appropriate parties, provide evidence in courts and build strong stakeholder relationships.
* Demonstrated advanced knowledge and understanding of current legislation, policies and requirements that impact the unit and accreditation standards.
* Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
