We are seeking an experienced Senior Economist to join our Australian Macroeconomics team. As a Senior Economist, you will ideally have 4+ years’ experience in a similar role and will be looking to further your career. You will hold a very good economics degree or similar. You will want to apply your robust quantitative skills to forecasting the Australian economy at the national, state and city levels. We are looking for a candidate who can deliver insightful commentary on timely data releases, as well as produce regular research notes that highlight developing trends in the economy and communicate the risks around our forecasts. The successful applicant will engage with clients through presentations and respond to queries on demand.

Key Responsibilities
Required
* Undergraduate degree in Economics or related field (honours or masters desired but not essential)
* In-depth knowledge of the Australian economy and exposure to macroeconomic forecasting.
* A proven, demonstrable track record of economic analysis and research.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain economic concepts and quantitative results, as well as their implications, to non-specialists.
* Comfortable working and liaising with our clients who are typically senior management in large corporations and government organisations.
* Highly organised and able to manage multiple deliverables at once.
* Self-starter, with the drive to set and reach ambitious goals. At the same time, candidates must be team players, recognising the value of diverse perspectives and shared success.
Desired
* Advanced degree in Economics.
* Experience programming in R.
* Experience developing econometric models – specifically utilising time series techniques.
* Previous experience in consulting, investment banking, or professional services.
* An eye for data visualisation and the skills to turn ideas into output.
