Are you a proactive WHS professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit community? We are seeking a Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor to join a progressive Regional Council in New South Wales, supporting a strong safety culture across diverse operational environments.
Reporting to the Manager People & Wellbeing, this role will see you partner with leaders and teams to drive practical safety outcomes across both office and field-based settings.
About the Role
This is a predominantly office-based position with regular site visits across Council worksites. A company vehicle will be provided for inspections and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct onsite WHS inspections and audits across operational areas
Support injury management and return-to-work processes in collaboration with leaders and external stakeholders
Assist with the development, review and implementation of WHS policies, procedures and frameworks
Provide guidance on contractor management and compliance requirements
Contribute to risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action tracking
Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation
About You
Demonstrated experience in a WHS Advisor or similar safety-focused role
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and best practice
Experience supporting return-to-work and injury management processes
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and coach leaders
Current Class C Driver Licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
Relevant WHS qualifications (Certificate IV in WHS or higher)
