Overview
Bechtel, one of the most recognized engineering, construction, and project management firms, is inviting applications for the position of Field Engineer Civil - Structural for the Wheatstone LNG Project. The project is a multi-train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and domestic gas (DomGas) plant which will be built up Onslow Australia. Bechtel is entrusted to take part in the engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of this LNG plant.
Overview of the position: The deserving candidates will have to report to the Area Field Engineer with technical guidance and supervision for the Lead Structural Field Engineer.
Basic Qualifications
The candidate should possess a BS in Structural Engineering or similar field. The candidate should contain a positive practical working knowledge of Teamwork and how it is applicable to construction and connected with design. The candidate should be well versed with Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards and other automation tools which are utilized on Bechtel projects.
The candidate should be proficient in computer as well as word processing, spreadsheet and database applications compliant with existing BSAP standards, and conversant in present industry quality standards. The candidate should have sound experience in performing with subcontractors with superior supervision and leadership expertise along with the capability to direct and manage change.
Duties & Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for field inspections and should have the physical capability to accomplish field inspections involving the following activities like wide-ranging walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, performing elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or restrained spaces. Some lifting may be essential.
The candidate must be able to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). The candidate must have the knowledge to apply suitable standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) necessary for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
