Overview
Group Financial Accountant – BOQ Group. Reporting into the Group's financial control team, the role undertakes accounting tasks including preparing and processing journals, ongoing management of account reconciliations, analysing and reporting financial information, and providing technical and administrative support to the finance team.
Responsibilities
* Ensure allocated month-end tasks, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting activities are completed in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
* Collaborate with other Group Financial Accountants and assist Group Finance Managers in ensuring the Bank meets its management and statutory reporting deadlines.
* Contribute towards the consolidation and standardisation of financial control activities to drive efficiency and enhanced controls, providing a platform to transition to the target future state in line with the broader Finance Transformation agenda.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Bus/Comm (Accounting); CPA / CA/ICAA qualified (or international equivalent)
Experience
* Multiple years accounting experience ideally within a financial control function
* Exposure to banking financial ledgers and statements
* Proven technical accounting skills and interpretation of new accounting standards
Knowledge & Competencies
* Ability to work directly with other Financial Accounting staff
* Consistent ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision
