We're working with a close Federal Government department seeking an experienced Complex Procurement Officer to join a well-established team supporting a high-profile security-focused division.

About the Role
This role will see you managing complex, end-to-end government procurements, operating with a high degree of autonomy while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Contract Length: 12 months + 2 x 12-month extensions

What You'll Be Doing
You will undertake complex procurements from start to finish, ensuring compliance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), internal policies, procurement-connected policies and other relevant procedures.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Planning, managing and delivering end-to-end procurement activities including market research, documentation preparation, evaluations, negotiations and contract awards
* Providing a high level of customer service and proactive advice to internal clients and stakeholders in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Framework
* Administering tender documentation through AusTender
* Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers
* Managing contract enquiries, issues, disputes, variations, risks and negotiations
* Monitoring contracts, managing extensions or renewals and overseeing contract close-out
* Problem-solving contract-related issues
* Preparing and managing simple and complex government contracts, including Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)
* Stakeholder management and engagement
* Developing, drafting and implementing communications strategies to support structural, technical and business changes impacting the division in relation to contract management
* Undertaking procurement reporting requirements
* Conducting risk assessments and managing risk mitigation strategies in procurement
* Maintaining corporate document management and filing requirements
* Mailbox management
* Providing advice and support to the Line Manager, including identifying opportunities to improve procurement outcomes, efficiency and value for money
* Performing all tasks with minimal direction and demonstrating a high level of initiative
Essential Requirements
* Working knowledge of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs)
* Minimum 5 years' experience undertaking end-to-end complex government procurement activities
* Applicants are requested to provide details of complex procurements they have undertaken, including their role
* Strong contract management experience, including use of the Commonwealth Contracting Suite (CCS)
* Ability to analyse suppliers, markets, products and service categories to inform procurement planning
* Qualification in Procurement and/or Contract Management, preferably within a government environment
