Are you an experienced case manager with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills? We're currently seeking an APS6 Case Management Specialist to join our client's External Review Case Management team.
This role plays a key part in supporting participants through the external review process with the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART), ensuring disputes are resolved in a timely, consistent, and participant-focused manner.
About the Role
Under limited direction, the APS6 Case Management Specialist will manage complex and sensitive case files related to ART applications, interpreting legislation and applying sound judgment to achieve fair outcomes. The role involves coordinating case strategies, engaging with stakeholders, preparing briefs, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the Agency's vision.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end case management of ART matters, including complex or high-risk cases
* Provide detailed technical, operational, and policy advice to stakeholders
* Apply alternate dispute resolution (ADR) strategies and advocate for early resolution
* Attend case conferences, conciliations, and hearings as required
* Analyse case data and prepare clear, comprehensive resolution reports and briefs
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including legal representatives
* Manage risks and prioritise cases based on participant needs and scheme sustainability
* Prepare participant plans and ensure decisions align with legislation and policy
Skills and Experience Required
* Proven experience managing complex casework or reviews
* Strong understanding of legislative frameworks (NDIS Act or similar)
* High-level verbal and written communication skills, including brief writing
* Demonstrated experience working to tight deadlines in a team environment
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
* Stakeholder engagement skills, including experience in sensitive or high-pressure settings
* Familiarity with tribunal processes and model litigant principles is desirable
