Horticulturalist Role Overview
Our organization seeks an experienced Horticulturalist to join our team of professionals responsible for maintaining and enhancing public spaces.
This part-time position offers a great work-life balance, with a roster that includes Wednesday to Friday one week, and Monday and Tuesday the next - giving you a long weekend every second week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Horticultural maintenance tasks including planting, trimming, hedging, and weeding to ensure public spaces are well-maintained
* Maintaining park furniture, garden beds, and other community assets
* Operating and maintaining various tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively
* Identifying and reporting any safety or maintenance issues while on site
* Working with minimal supervision while producing high-quality results
* Sharing horticultural knowledge with the team and providing practical advice when needed
* Collaborating with colleagues to deliver excellent outcomes for the community
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance is essential. A passion for quality results and excellent communication skills are also desirable.
