Key Objectives
This role plays a crucial part in supporting the financial operations of Curo Group, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The Senior Accountant will work closely with the COO, CEO, and key business leaders, as well as external accounting providers, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement of finance processes.
This is a hybrid role, requiring three days per week in our Melbourne office and two days working remotely.
Main Responsibilities
1. Support the preparation of all statutory obligations, including FBT, BAS, GST
2. Assist with cash flow management, month-end and year-end reporting
3. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll, invoicing, and supplier payments
4. Review general ledger and reconciliations, including inter-company journals and consolidation entries
5. Work with outsourced accounting partners to ensure accurate and timely reporting
6. Support management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the business
7. Identify and contribute to process improvements and business initiatives
8. Maintain productive working relationships with key business stakeholders
9. Document finance processes and procedure manuals
10. Contribute to sound financial operations (systems and processes) to manage cash flow in a growing business
11. Prepare monthly finance reports for board meetings
* Oversee bookkeeping and financial oversight of Curo's international subsidiaries
Qualifications
12. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
* CA or CPA qualified (or working towards qualification)
Essential Experience
13. 4–6 years' experience in accounting or finance roles, with increasing responsibility
14. Demonstrated experience in multi-entity environments, including financial consolidations
15. Proven ability to manage month-end reporting, cash flow management, and compliance obligations (e.g. BAS, GST, FBT)
* Experience in a professional services firm, SaaS environment, or high-growth business
Desired Experience & Attributes
16. Proficiency with Xero and reporting tools such as Syft or Power BI
17. Familiarity with accounting across UK or international jurisdictions
18. Strong grasp of accounting standards, compliance requirements, and the ability to produce value-adding financial analysis
19. A proactive mindset with interest in technology, education, or digital services sectors
