Your Opportunity
* The Clinical Director – Mental Health provides strategic medical and clinical leadership within Mental Health and Specialised Services at Bundaberg Hospital.
* The role holds overarching responsibility for the delivery of specialist mental health services within the designated area, ensuring the implementation and maintenance of an effective, consultant-led model of care operating seven days per week.
* The position delivers high-level clinical services within a defined component of the Mental Health Service, in alignment with the broader Clinical Director accountabilities and organisational objectives.

* Demonstrated capacity to provide strategic and clinical leadership within Mental Health and Specialised Services.
* Recognised expertise as a Staff Specialist in Psychiatry, with advanced clinical knowledge, sound judgement, and effective decision-making skills.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintenance of clinical competence.
* Proven ability to supervise, teach, and support interns, junior medical officers, and medical students.
* Strong capability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and across services.
* High-level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with medical and allied health professionals.
* Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, clinical governance, and ethical medical practice.
* Ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation.
* Capacity to practise effectively within a cross-cultural healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Mandatory possession of a Medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution and Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), including maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration.
* Specialist Registrants will be preferred in all positions; however non-specialists or overseas trained specialists may be considered where appropriate and significant progression towards fellowship can be demonstrated. Applicants who have completed specialist qualifications but are yet to be registered as a specialist are encouraged to apply.
* All such qualifications should be submitted to AHPRA for inclusion on their website in which case, this will provide evidence of qualification. Copies of the required information must also be provided in sufficient time to enable the awarding of Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) prior to the commencement date.
* All applicants must be awarded Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) by the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service Credentialing and SoCP committee. Information presented for application will be presented to the committee during the selection process, and all appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the CSCF for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken. This process must be completed prior to commencement.
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
