As a Facilities Operator, you will be responsible for the 24/7 oversight, monitoring, operation, and control of all site infrastructure, utilities, and equipment. You will play an integral role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and effective operation of the site. Your duties will include managing critical power, generation, cooling, and hydraulic systems, keeping accurate records, completing routine inspections, and compiling data on site infrastructure and equipment.
This is a diverse, multi-facetted position within a team of specialised experts who have control over and maintain a unique site. As a member of this team, you will join one of 4 shift teams on a 7x days, 7x nights 14 days off roster (12hr shifts) to guarantee 24/7 support and coverage to the facility and all utilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and control site infrastructure and equipment.
* Conduct safe configuration changes and equipment isolation.
* Perform technical assessments and write/review technical documentation.
* Conduct routine equipment inspections, data collection, and metric reporting.
* Perform maintenance and repair activities on a wide variety of equipment and infrastructure.
* Complete reports, incident, and event data collection.
* Investigate and review system anomalies.
* Lead and contribute to the development of technical processes and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements.
* Perform any other reasonable duties as requested.
Qualifications: Minimum Essential:
* Experience in a relevant industry or trade assistance position, or equivalent experience and skills.
* Applicable experience in trades such as Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Mechanical, Communication/Cabling, Fire Technician, Plant/System Control, Security or CCTV systems.
* Experience in related facilities operations or SCADA system operations.
* Strong understanding of general equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, and corrective).
* Ability to read and assess technical plans and documents.
* Basic computer skills, including Office 365 programs and Excel.
* Be an Australian citizen and possess or be able to obtain a TSPV.
* Valid Driver's License.
Desirable:
* Strong understanding of infrastructure, facilities equipment, and functionality within a large operational facility.
* 5 years post-apprenticeship trade experience or experience as a Facilities/Infrastructure Operator.
* HV switching certification/experience.
* Experience in Power Generation or Power Networks.
* Experience working with HMI-based control systems/SCADA or BMS systems.
* First response/aid certification.
* Confined space entry certification.
* High-risk work certification.
* Dogger/Rigger/Crane license.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
* Ability to perform general trades-based tasks and physical work of light to moderately heavy physicality.
* Extended periods of sitting and working in an office space monitoring equipment via HMI.
* Extended periods of manual trade-based labor and time on feet working with tools and equipment.
* High attention to detail and concentration levels, with the ability to multitask.
Work Environment:
* This role requires physical fitness to safely perform tasks associated with facility maintenance, including the ability to lift and operate tools and equipment.
